Top 5 Motoring themed days out

So you've just leased your new car from NewCarsOnline and you're looking for a reason to take your new car for a drive. Fear not, here are 5 places to take your new lease car:

National Motor Museum

Website: https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/attractions/national-motor-museum/

Location: Beaulieu, Hampshire

Believe me when I say this... the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu is absolutely amazing. I was lucky enough to visit back in 2015 and it was an unforgettable experience. The National Motor Museum houses one of the finest collections of cars and motorcycles in the world.

From legendary F1 cars, land speed recorder breakers, cars from the likes of Top Gear, James Bond and even Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the National Motor Museum has something for everyone.

The oldest vehicle in the collection is a Benz Velo which dates back to 1898, it has a top speed of just 18mph and produces 3hp. The Benz Velo was the second car that Karl Benz ever produced - making it one of the oldest Mercedes-Benz's in the world! You can browse the full collection by clicking here.

Silverstone Circuit

Website: https://www.silverstone.co.uk/

Location: Silverstone, Northamptonshire

The Silverstone Museum opened its doors in 2019 and was opened by non-other than Prince Harry and Sir Lewis Hamilton. Inside the museum, you will find cars and motorcycles separated into different eras; 1940s-60s, 1970s-80s and 1990s-present-day which features cars from British racing legends such as Nigell Mansell, Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button.

Of course, there's much more to do at Silverstone. Both Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin F1 have their headquarters located close by to Silverstone circuit. Red Bull Racing even offer a factory tour!

There's also the Silverstone Grand Prix that you could attend which takes place every July. But be warned, the tickets do sell out quickly! This year I was fortunate enough to get grandstand tickets at Stowe corner. If you'd like to attend the Grand Prix, be prepared to fork over some serious cash if you want a good view. General admission starts at £160, however, if you want a grandstand seat they start at £325 for a weekend ticket.

Mercedes-Benz World

Website: https://www.mercedes-benzworld.co.uk/

Location: Weybridge, Surrey

Mercedes-Benz World combines a Mercedes dealership with a 3-floor museum that features some of the rarest Mercedes-Benz's in the world. Not only does Mercedes-Benz world house some of the rarest road cars but there's also Lewis Hamilton's and Nico Rosberg's Mercedes F1 cars!

You can also take part in a driving experience, there are track experiences, off-road experiences and high-speed passenger rides. This might be one of the only places in the country you can see a G-Wagen being driven off-road - they're usually doing laps of central London!

Next to Mercedes-Benz World, you will find the Brooklands Museum, much like the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, there's a huge collection of historic vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, buses and even aircraft, including a Concorde!

Goodwood Festival of Speed

Website: https://www.goodwood.com/motorsport/festival-of-speed/

Location: Goodwood House, West Sussex

The Festival of Speed is a must if you're in any way interested in cars or racing. Just like the Silverstone Grand Prix, the Festival of Speed takes place every July and is attended by the crème de la crème of British society. Regular attendees include Sir Paul Smith, Sir Jackie Stewart, iPhone designer Sir Jony Ive, The Duke of Richmond, Damon Hill and the rising F1 star, Lando Norris.

The main attraction at the Festival of Speed is the iconic hill climb. The hill climb sees road cars, race cars and bikes both old and new race up the hill to try and set the fastest time. In 2020 the Volkswagen ID.R set the pace, but what will top the timesheets this year? Along with the hill climb, there are rally shows and F1 experiences.

You cannot go wrong with a weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

A good old road trip

Location: Anywhere

When you're a petrol head, you don't need to spend £345 on the Silverstone Grand Prix to have a good time. You just need your lease car (from NewCarsOnline) and the open road! The North Coast 500 in Scotland and the Lake District are my favourites, but there are plenty of other roads in the UK with amazing roads and views that are worth visiting.

Luckily, we live in a country that has a lot of roads that seem to be shaped like race tracks. This is strange, considering we should be pushing for safer roads.
